A strong commitment from parents is important to the success of their child. Parents must ensure that their child wears their implants or hearing aids all waking hours. Parents must be committed to the oral philosophy of our program. Parents must support the daily requirements of Child's Voice (e.g. be on time for school).
Parents must provide Child's Voice with complete and current audiological information. Children who wear hearing aids need to have complete audiological assessments every 6 months. Children who have cochlear implants need to follow up with appointments with their implant center and provide Child's Voice with a schedule of those appointments.
Parents must be in-serviced by a Child's Voice staff member to explain about our school and parent responsibilities. Parents must observe in appropriate level classrooms prior to placement. Parents must be committed to toilet training their child.
