Parent/Infant Program

The Parent-Infant Program provides individualized auditory-oral therapy for infants who are deaf or hard of hearing. Therapy sessions with a Developmental Therapist for the Hearing Impaired take place once a week and can occur at either the Child's Voice School facility or in the child's natural environment as part of the Home-Based Intervention Program. These therapy sessions include working extensively in partnership with parents and caregivers to provide education and support regarding their child's hearing loss and language development and teach parents strategies for providing a language rich environment for their child.

Therapy sessions consist of play-based assessment to monitor the child's developmental milestones and provide appropriate language models during everyday activities. Therapy goals for the child include demonstrating auditory skills by attending to a variety of sounds in the infant's environment.
