The goal of the Toddler Program is to enhance, facilitate and accelerate speech and language development and further develop auditory skills in toddlers with hearing loss. The program provides a group experience in addition to individual therapy for toddlers 18 months to three years. Children attend the toddler program two to three times a week and are scheduled according to their abilities.
The group experience provides countless opportunities for natural language use, socialization through interactions with peers and development of age-appropriate play skills. In addition to the group experience, each child is seen for individual therapy by a speech pathologist and a teacher of the deaf. These sessions target speech, language and auditory goals to promote the child's spoken language skills.
