The goal of Primary II is to prepare the child for the mainstream.
The students are grouped into classrooms by age and language level. Every thirty minutes children alternate between their classrooms, taught by an orally trained teacher of the deaf and to the Learning Center also taught by a teacher of the deaf.
In the classroom, the children work in small groups of 2-3 children on speech, language, auditory training, and vocabulary. The children also are exposed to the academic areas of reading and math.
The Learning Center is a print-rich, music-filled, movement-incorporated environment. Children are in larger groups of 10-12. At Child's Voice, it is the bridge between their small, highly-structured classroom and their future encounters in a typical regular classroom.
